Easy to get a quote

Needed to get cat insurance for my fluffy Persian. Went to the Spot website to get a quote. It was super fast and easy to pick out the accident only plan. Prices seemed good. I'm happy with it.

Comprehensive coverage for my senior dog

I signed up for senior dog insurance for my beagle, Max, last month. The online quote process was straightforward, and I found it easy to customize the annual limit and deductible to fit my budget. I opted for accident and illness coverage with the dental illness add-on, as his teeth are a growing concern. The policy documents arrived quickly via email, and I even called customer support with a question about hip dysplasia coverage; the representative was knowledgeable and answered all my questions clearly without any pushy sales talk. Filing a mock claim on their portal seemed pretty intuitive. It feels good to have this safety net in place for him.

So happy with my puppy plan!

Got puppy insurance for my new golden retriever, Charlie, and it was so easy to set up! The accident and illness coverage gives me so much peace of mind. I also added the preventive care option. Definitely recommending Spot to all my friends with new pups! What a great service!

Good value, some minor issues

I enrolled my two dogs in a multi-pet plan covering accidents and illness. The 10% multi-pet discount made the monthly premium quite reasonable compared to other quotes I got. The online application was mostly smooth, though I had a small glitch entering one of the birthdates, which took a refresh to fix. Delivery of the policy details was prompt. I haven't had to file a claim yet, but the coverage seems comprehensive, including things like prescription food. Overall, a solid choice for pet insurance, but the website could use a tiny bit of polish.

Always a smooth process

I've used Spot for my two cats for a couple of years now. This last renewal was just as easy as previous ones. The multi-pet discount is consistent, and I appreciate not having to worry about finding new coverage. Their accident and illness plan has been reliable, which is why I keep coming back.

How does Spot compare to Lemonade? Saw an ad for Lemonade but heard good things about Spot too. Trying to decide for my new puppy.

G Greg 2 months ago
I looked at both. Spot seemed to have more customizable options for what actually gets covered, like different add-ons. Lemonade was simpler but maybe less flexible.

Spot felt more comprehensive to me, especially if you want to add stuff like behavioral or prescription food coverage. Lemonade was cheaper up front sometimes but I worried it wouldn't cover as much when it really mattered.

I'm a nurse, do they have any kind of discount for healthcare workers? Or any other secret codes floating around?

M Marcus Marsh 2 months ago
Pretty sure they have a healthcare worker discount! I saw it mentioned somewhere when I was signing up, definitely ask them when you get a quote.

Discounts are usually through specific employer portals or big groups, not like a general promo code you can just type in. But the healthcare one is a thing, afaik.

Anyone know how long it usually takes for claims to get processed with Spot? My dog just had an unexpected vet visit and I'm kinda stressed about getting reimbursed.

B Ben Beaumont 1 month ago
Mine was pretty quick actually, like a week or so for a routine illness. Way faster than I expected.

It can vary a bit based on how much info the vet sends over, but I've generally had good experiences. Usually within 2 weeks for me. You just submit it online, super easy.

Hey guys, thinking about getting insurance for my two cats. Does Spot offer a multi-pet discount or anything like that?

C Colin 2 months ago
Yeah, they totally do! I got 10% off for adding my second dog. It's pretty sweet.

Can confirm, multi-pet discount is their main thing. I think you just add them both when you're getting the quote and it applies automatically.

Is Spot Pet Insurance actually good for older dogs? My beagle is getting up there and I'm worried about vet bills popping up.

I got it for my senior lab mix and it's been a lifesaver. Covers a lot of chronic stuff. Definitely worth looking into their senior plans.

They do cover older pets, yeah. Just make sure to read the policy carefully regarding pre-existing stuff, that's usually the main catch with any older pet insurance.
